How a Chiropractor Can Help You With Irritable Bowel Syndrome - IT WORKS!

Bloating, abdominal cramping, gas, diarrhoea or constipation? You may be suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS).

If this debilitating condition is making it hard for you to work, attend social functions, or travel, you may finally find relief by undergoing Chiropractic care. Although you may not know what is causing your IBS, seeing a Chiropractor may just be the solution you have been waiting for.

IBS may affect up to 20% of the population at some point in their life. For some the symptoms may be mild, and well for others, life can become quite uncomfortable and stressful. Whether it affects you at work, home or socially, seeing a Chiropractor may allow you to live a more comfortable life, free from pain.

Before we begin to understand how a Chiropractor may be able to help with IBS, let's first look at what IBS is, and some theories of why it may develop.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a functional disorder of the large intestines, affecting the nerves and muscles of the bowel. The nerves can sometimes become oversensitive and the muscles may not contract as well as they're supposed to. This can cause abdominal pain and irregular bowel movements. This altered bowel function may affect the way your intestines respond to stimuli (such as certain foods) as well as stress that would not normally bother other people.

Researchers have not yet discovered any specific cause for IBS, but they have been able to find similarities in some of the sufferers:

• 50% of people noticed symptoms of IBS after a major life event - such as the loss of a loved one, change of house or job, etc. This suggests that there may be a possible psychological trigger for IBS.
• 20% of people noticed symptoms after inflammation or infection of the bowels - suggesting infection as the cause.

While IBS does not have a definitive cause, it does have certain triggers. Some of these include:

• Certain medication
• Alcohol and caffeine
• Dairy
• Wheat, rye, barley and chocolate
• Stress
• Eating large meals
• MSG
• Artificial sweeteners

How can a Chiropractor help?

Chiropractors believe that there is a strong relationship between the intestines and the nervous system (brain, spinal cord, and spinal nerves). In order for your bowels to work as best as they can, your nervous system must be able to send information to your intestines without any interference. Since the spine houses the spinal cord (a component of the nervous system), misalignments in the vertebrae (bones) of the spine, may lead to interference of this communication network, and hence lead to irritable bowel. Chiropractors refer to this interference as a subluxation. By correcting these subluxations, the nerves are better able to carry the messages to the bowel to allow for their optimal functioning. This is how a Chiropractor may be able to help people suffering with irritable bowel syndrome.

There have not been any studies that prove Chiropractic to be effective with IBS, but it is becoming an increasingly popular alternative treatment for this ailment. Many Chiropractors report that spinal adjustments have helped their patients better manage their irritable bowel.

Chiropractic care has also been known to help reduce stress - one of the culprits of IBS symptoms. And a good Chiropractor may also be able to propose a suitable food plan, to minimise the symptoms of this stressful condition. While medication masks the pain and symptoms, as you can see, Chiropractors treat the underlying cause of IBS.

Are you sick and tired of putting up with an irritable bowel? Why not consider Chiropractic as a safe, gentle and effective means for managing the pain and discomfort associated with this ailment.

Is Chiropractic Advertising a Waste of Money?

Well, what do you think? I don't know one single chiropractor that's build a cash machine of a practice by sending postcards, advertising in the yellow-pages or newspaper, do you? I honestly think that the chiropractic profession has simply become accustomed to wasting money on ineffective advertising and marketing over the years. Seriously, the return on investment tends to be very low and the costs can literally send you and your practice into the poorhouse in the blink of an eye!

We've all tried the same things for the most part, as the same worn-out chiropractor advertising and marketing strategies are just recycled throughout the years. Yet, why do we fall for this stuff when it only has been shown to produce mediocre results? The answer is because of lack of awareness. When studying Bob Proctor, I like what he says. He states "The person that makes $50,000 / year doesn't make that income because he wants to, he makes that income because he doesn't know how to make $100,000 / year!" This quote is spot-on and pertains to all business owners including chiropractors. Awareness is everything.

It's important to make yourself "aware" of new marketing tactics and strategies since we live in a different world now, as opposed to even 3 years ago. So much in the chiropractic profession has changed just like in the communications and marketing field. Allow me to share a personal example. I was getting mediocre results several years ago until I discovered a new way of connecting with people and marketing that revolutionized my practice and really opened the flood-gates. This phenomenon was referred to as Web 2.0, a term that many in the chiropractic profession are still unaware of. I began to utilize social networks, video, and other forms of social media to build myself as a credible expert within my community and boy did it pay off in a major way!

That's when I had this overwhelming amount of chiropractors get wind of the killer results I was attaining and they began to beg me to teach them. I began social media consulting almost three years ago and I've been living a truly abundant and rewarding life helping others. Social media is virtually an untapped, new patient treasure-chest if you know how to leverage it in certain ways. Take video, for example. People have a natural voyeuristic tendency, as proven by the reality TV boom.

Did you know major television networks are now teaming up to try and compete with YouTube (the 3rd most visited website in the world)? Very few people are turning to major network television for news anymore so the networks are freakin out. People are flocking to this video sharing network by the truckload. This sign was one that I caught onto very early and has been the best move I could've every made for my chiropractic marketing and other ventures.

In no other places on the web or offline, can you connect with so many targeted prospects like you can on social networks like Myspace, YouTube, Facebook, BlackPlanet, Tagged, etc... Pay attention to how many employers are now beginning to forbid their employees to navigate these networks at work. It's been a big problem nationally... haha. I mean, this addictive behavior should clue you into the massive drawing power of social media! From a business perspective, it's music to my ears.

The sooner you get involved and understand how to market on these networks, the more profitable and "recession-proof" your chiropractic practice will become. Social media and social networks are not a fad, I assure you. People are becoming rich and famous everyday from their use. The question is, when would "now" be a good time for your chiropractic marketing to evolve into the new world?

Five Common Allergies - And Tips to Get Rid of Them

Allergy season is now in full swing, and people everywhere are looking for tips to get rid of allergies. One of the first things you should do if you suspect allergies, is to go have an allergy test done. This test is usually done at either your primary care physician's office, or at the office of an Allergy and Immunology doctor. The test is usually performed by a nurse or medical assistant and the results are interpreted by the doctor. After this test is complete, you will have a better idea of what is triggering your symptoms. Then you can take steps to prevent allergy symptoms, and ultimately, learn how to get rid of your allergies!

This article will discuss five of the most common allergies and tips on how to get rid of them. First you may ask, what is an allergy? Basically, an allergy is an unnatural immune reaction to a normally benign substance (whether plants, animals, insects or food) that your body thinks is harmful. These substances are called allergens. When you come into contact with an allergen, your body releases a chemical called histamine into the bloodstream, (in hopes of destroying what it thinks of as an invader) which causes inflammation. This is called an allergic reaction. Sometimes, an allergic reaction is so severe, it can become fatal. What are some of the most common allergies? They include substances such as:

1 Pollen
2 Mold
3 Pets/animal hair
4 Latex
5 Food

Of all common offenders, pollen is the number one allergen in the United States, and is the most common allergy during seasonal allergy months. Pollen comes from a multitude of plants, herbs, trees and flowers, and spreads like wildfire through the air. The most prevalent time for pollen is during the spring and summer, when most plants bloom to life. Plants release pollen on into the autumn season, and while winter is usually a time for pollen-allergy sufferers to breathe a sigh of relief, there are still some plants that release pollen even in the dead of winter.

Mold is pesky little fungi that loves to grow in warm, moist, dark places. Mold releases spores into the air, and when mold is touched or the spores are inhaled, they cause inflammation in the airways and bring on an allergic reaction. It is important to have your house routinely checked for mold, especially if you live in a humid climate. The longer a mold problem persists, the harder it is to eradicate.

An allergy to animal hair is a very common, yet unfortunate, allergy to have. The most common cause of an allergy to animal hair is the proteins that coat the hair. Those oils/proteins are there to protect the animal's coat of hair and keep it shiny. Unfortunately, those shiny coats trigger respiratory allergies in many people, which can be very sad for animal lovers. Sometimes, animal hair allergies are so severe that the afflicted person, sadly, cannot keep a pet.

Latex allergy is another quite common, yet often times severe, allergy. The protein contained in the latex rubber is the offender here, and usually leads to an immediate, sometimes very severe allergic reaction. For those who work in the healthcare field, and those who require frequent doctor visits, this allergy can be problematic, since many healthcare items contain latex. Fortunately, more and more medical manufacturers are coming out with latex-free gloves and other latex-free equipment.

Last on this list of the top five most common allergies, but certainly not least, are food allergies. Food allergy can, at times, be the most problematic allergy of all. This is because nowadays, in this age of food additives and preservatives, there are many hidden ingredients in processed and pre-prepared foods. The most common food allergies are nuts, shellfish, wheat and milk/dairy products. When a food allergy sufferer eats an allergy-causing food, their bodies release histamine into the bloodstream, causing inflammation which can be severe. This reaction can be anywhere from diarrhea and stomach cramps to anaphylaxis, a life-threatening allergic reaction that causes the airway to close or swell shut.

Now that you know some of the most common allergies, and you know that getting tested to identify your allergies is the first step, it's time to talk about how to get rid of your allergies. Many (but not all) modern doctors believe that adults won't be able to totally get rid of their allergies. Children tend to grow out of their allergies, but most adults retain their allergies for life. Don't groan just yet - keeping positive is a huge step in dealing with your allergies. Contrary to popular belief, there is hope - yes, you can get rid of your allergies! Some more good news is that many naturopathic doctors, herbalists, and natural healers believe that you can indeed get rid of allergies.

The next step to getting rid of your allergies is to avoid the things that give you allergic reactions. That sounds fairly simple, but it can be complicated when it involves allergens such as food. Modifying your environment can go a long way to getting rid of allergies. Keep an allergy diary and write about your reactions - this will help you learn what to avoid. If you have mold in your house, make sure it is cleaned out and totally eradicated by specialists that deal specifically with getting rid of mold. If you are allergic to your household pets, don't fret. Do some research into allergy-friendly pets that you can own - yes, there are allergy-friendly animals out there. There are even allergy-friendly dogs such as the short-haired Chihuahua. If you are allergic to pollen, make sure to have someone help you keep your grass mowed and your yard in tip-top shape, and take your prescribed allergy medicine daily. If latex is what gets your allergic response going, be sure to alert any new doctors to this allergy, and carefully read labels on household and cosmetic supplies to make sure they are latex-free. Food allergies can be the trickiest, but if you become an avid-label reader and carry allergy medicine (including an Epi-Pen for serious reactions) with you that should go a long way to helping you avoid the offending substances. Do a diet of elimination - meaning, eliminate all the problem foods from your diet for a period of time (usually around 6 weeks) and then slowly introduce them back in, one at a time. Many times, elimination diets have huge success rates, even to the point that the previous allergy-causing foods no longer cause problems!

Next on the list is treatment. Take your prescribed allergy medicine every day. If you know you are going to come into contact with any allergens, take your medicine beforehand to lessen or even prevent symptoms. Talk to your doctor about getting what is called allergy shots. These shots contain very small amounts of the substances to which you are allergic, so as to desensitize you. The theory is, which each shot, you become less and less allergic to that particular substance. The good thing is, many people have a huge success rate with allergy shots. Another option is alternative treatments such as chiropractic and acupuncture sessions.

A lot of allergy sufferers swear by acupuncture to alleviate their allergies. Other alternative treatments would be vitamin, antioxidant and herbal supplements that boost the immune system, stabilize cells, and repair damage. Examples of these would be vitamin C, vitamin B complex, vitamin E, Quercetin, green tea, and omega-3 fatty acid supplements. Saline sinus rinses also have a high success rate, since they flush out irritants and bacteria. Speaking of flushing out irritants - a good intestinal cleanse has worked wonders for many food allergy sufferers.

Remember to always talk to your doctor before taking any supplements, doing any kind of cleanse, or starting any kind of alternative therapy for your allergies. Though you may want to, you can't diagnose yourself. Allergy sufferers need to be under the care of a physician. Don't fret or get discouraged, though! No matter what the naysayers say, there are options and you can get rid of allergies. Allergies don't have to last forever - and when you follow the tips outlined in this article, you can kiss your allergies goodbye.

Migraine Headache Relief - 5 Approaches That May Help

Not a day goes by that I don't see somebody in my office that doesn't suffer from migraine headaches. There are a lot of expensive products in the market place along with other concoctions and home remedies. It is important to understand the type of migraine you may be suffering from and seeing if there are triggers that can be avoided or remedies that may support you in avoiding or ridding yourself of terrible migraine pain and suffering without spending a lot of money!

A typical migraine can be painfully severe and "pulsating" with accompanying nausea and vomiting. Many people complain of increased sensitivity to light and occasionally sound. They tend to affect females more often than men, tend to be unilateral, or one sided in the head, and they can last a few hours to a few days. Approximately 30% of people perceive signs in advance of the migraine occurring and have unusual sensory experiences such as visual or olfactory that a migraine is coming.

The causes of migraines are still unknown and are still being researched. However, many migraine sufferers are aware of triggering circumstances and avoid them when they can be controlled. Often times though the there are events and circumstances that are beyond our control and on exposure or withdrawal of these triggers, the result can manifest into an acute migraine headache.

It is important for each individual to try and identify what their personal triggers are, by identifying the circumstances, foods etc that may be the causative agents in setting the migraine off. The easiest way to accomplish this is to keep a headache diary or journal. Keeping any details that can be correlated to triggering the migraine pain.

Inconsistent sleeping patterns, bright lights, noises, odours, stress, food additives, menstrual cycles, alcohol and medications are just a few on a long list of things that have all been thought to be possible triggers for migraine headaches.

Occasionally a person may experience a migraine with no known cause or reason for it triggering. However, once a migraine headache begins they usually continue to go into a full migraine headache attack. There are many opinions and theories regarding the causes of migraine headaches but lifestyle and diet modifications can probably have the most significant impact on limiting the number of migraine headaches a person may suffer. Once the headache appears there are some simple yet effective remedies that may help to eliminate the migraine headache.

  1. Cold pack or cold shower on the head and neck: Blood vessels tend to dilate or expand during an attack as a result of the chemical changes in a person's body. This can result in pressure building up in the head and brain and the debilitating pain most often associated with these type of headaches. The cold packs or cold water on the head and neck is believed to help constrict the swollen blood vessels and reduce the pulsating pain. Some people have reported relief from alternating hot and cold showers, or warm and cold compresses around the head, manipulating the blood flow, oxygen and nutrients that are in the area of pain. This may help to relieve the pain.

  2. Exercise: Some individuals may benefit from exercise as this causes a release of the body's natural painkillers called endorphins. Exercise may also cause changes in the dilation and constriction of blood vessels associated with the pain, and may also release stress in muscles or nerves that could be correlated to triggering the migraine headache. Others may want to avoid exercise, keeping your journal details will help determine if exercise may help. Running is often one of the most common forms of exercise people will use for relief.

  3. Find a dark room and try to sleep: Find a quiet room, dim the lights or shut them off completely. Pick up a book and read, or do another quiet activity, this may help you to become drowsy and fall asleep without trying. Be cautious of taking any migraine medication as they usually contain caffeine and may interfere with you falling asleep.

  4. Magnesium: This mineral is usually found in seeds and nuts, leafy green vegetables whole grains and nutritional supplements. It is estimated that magnesium is involved in over 300 biochemical reactions. Some of the more important bodily functions it is involved with include regulating blood sugar levels, heart rhythms, and blood pressure, healthy nerve and muscle function, immune functions and for bone health. Several studies have been conducted evaluating the effectiveness of magnesium for migraine headaches and have shown favourable results. Be careful with how much you take, as diarrhoea, decreased appetite, breathing problems and medication interactions are only a few of the problems that can result from high doses of magnesium. Speak with you r health care professional regarding what amount is appropriate for your individual needs.

  5. Chiropractic Care: A study done by Dr. Peter Tuchin for a Ph.D. thesis at Macquarie University showed that after chiropractic care, 60% of migraine sufferers had a reduction in symptoms. The chiropractic adjustments themselves weren't necessarily treating the migraines but instead helped restore function and normal mechanics to the cervical (neck) spine and aid the body in healing itself. Circulation and nerves may also be effected helping to reduce the migraine pain. Chiropractic focuses on adjusting spinal misalignments to correct normal movement within the neck and correct any areas of tension, stress and pain that may be contributing factors to the migraine pain.

Volunteer Chiropractor in Africa

Most African's have no idea what a chiropractor is, they hear Doctor coinciding with free and race in. My first experience as a chiropractor is Africa was in Luanda, Angola, a big city war torn for 30 yrs still with bullet holes and bombed buildings. So it was a little shock to say the least. I happened to coincide my visit with the POPE or papa as they call him, of course no coincidence that I arrived with the most important man in Angola, fitting to our shared promise to the people. I then moved to Zanzibar, for long white beaches and coconuts and then Zimbabwe for the animals and lifestyle.

My next experience Zanzibar in Tanzania, This possibly is the most beautiful place in the world, long white sandy beaches, coral reefs, coconuts and seafood. Did you know there are 100 ways to use a coconut, well there is to a Zanzibari. I would spend my mornings in my coconut leaf thatched roof office that had 2 long seats outside. I would work till they were empty and then I was free to enjoy the sun and the sand. This time I had a translator, so my word count was increased from only 1. The people here suffered terribly with disease of manual labor, degeneration in their knee's and hips and no money or resources for care. There were no facilities on the island so they would have to travel to mainland Tanzania which already was out of the budget. Traveling to town on a crowed minibus was enough of a stretch for the average household.

I volunteered with a Canadian couple who have dedicated their lives to offer more to the people of Zanzibar. The Husband is a Chiropractor whose clinic stands next door to his wife's school for free tourism education, offering a real resource for the people. Other industry is export of cloves and seaweed, not the seaweed you eat but the seaweed that goes in fillers like toothpaste, so you can imagine what price that comes at. There was lots of hard work with little return, including long hours of bending, picking and heavy lifting. It was amazing to see children, grandma's and mothers with babies strapped to their backs standing in the knee deep waters of low tide, twice a day every day, rain hail or shine. Mostly shine though, this is Zanzibar.

I truly loved it there, being able to communicate with patients gave me much more insight into their lives and their stresses which opened me up to the country and the people. There was another volunteer working at the school and together we made friends with the students who invited us to celebrations and even dinner, which was an amazing experience. After ritually washing our hands with water we continued to eat with them, we sat in the covered eating area of the house which was made out of crushed up coral and water then after dinner we moved to the uncovered part of the house and took many photo's, they do love the camera and the digital phenomenon.

The school included English education, befriending volunteers was a good way for them to practice and we were mutually interested in each other's way of life. Our friends were mostly students and were male and female. I mention this because it is not very common for women to either do extra education or become friends with westerners, especially in Zanzibar which is a heavily Muslim community.

My third destination was Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Now Zanzibar may be the most beautiful but this was my favourite. Zimbabwe gets a bad rap for all that has gone on politically and although perhaps right, Zimbabwe is still safe, happy and a wonderful place to visit. You would be amazed of the courage and integrity of the people. My father was a Zimbabwean so I felt very at home here, and although opportunities are less, life is grand. I had many friends and caught up with old family ties. Victoria Falls as you may know is a tourist town, at the edge of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world and one of the seven wonders.

I worked in schools as well as hospitals where I saw chiropractic patients. Remarkably Zimbabwe has the best English literacy rate in Africa, higher than South Africa, the schools and hospitals were once a standout in Africa and now unfortunately totally unmaintained. So I had full communication with all the people I worked with and lots of work to do.

I got the opportunity to see the famous Victoria falls many times with my volunteer group but I also took a special trip at night on the full moon, they stay open once a month for the spectacle, which was amazing. The Company I was volunteering with also ran a lion conservation and education program which involved walking with the lions. I was working with the community but when I felt like I needed to get back to nature the lions were always there. The lions walked on private land that was free roaming for wild animals so every so often on an innocent lion walk the cubs would come across warthog, impalas or buffalo which made an exciting stalk then chase. We did lose the lions one morning after they clumsily but determinedly chased buffalo. We desperately called our body guards back as ironically the lion became our friend not our foe.

So after much-loved traveling and adventure I have finally come back home to Australia to settle into life and share my story of Africa. I am now a Chiropractor in Goondiwindi and loving my new home at Life Chiropractic Goondiwindi

What Does A Chiropractor Do?

Often the word chiropractor brings many thoughts to mind. In the early days of the profession many medical doctors labelled chiropractors "quacks" and charlatans. Chiropractic has often been associated with back and neck pain but a lot of the controversy that previously surrounded the profession grew out of chiropractors claims of many other improved health conditions such as asthma, ear infections, and a multiple of other medical conditions. People who are under chiropractic care either swear by it, or think that they are being coerced to come in for repeated care.

Chiropractic philosophy evolved around the principle that proper maintenance of the spine through chiropractic adjusting could improve, and support the nervous system keeping a person healthy. A Doctor of Chiropractic as they are also known, treats many musculo-skeletal problems as well. There are over 200 chiropractic techniques and 31 Chiropractic Colleges within the United States (18), Canada (2), Australasia (6), and Europe(5). Most chiropractors practice with the approach of relieving any interference or spinal mis-alignments that interfere with normal functioning of the spinal column and nerves associated with those structures. Many chiropractors use traditional manual adjusting procedures and some use both manual and mechanical multi-thrust instrument adjusting.

The spinal cord is housed within the spinal vertebral column. Many chiropractors understand that conditions or maladies may be affected through these nerves, and their nervous system pathways, affecting the organs and tissues. When there is a disturbance within this bony mechanism, this mechanical distress may disrupt the normal balance and harmony within our bodies, creating disturbances in our nervous system either through pain or symptoms, or in other ways which are not as obvious to us, until the dis-ease accumulates in a greater degree.

The evidence supports chiropractic improving back and neck pain and other musculo-skeletal problems through chiropractic adjustment. Continuing research into other areas of health benefits is still needed to fully understand the effects of chiropractic adjustments on the rest of the nervous system and a person's overall health.

Your initial visit to a chiropractor will most likely include a thorough medical history and consultation. Afterwards they will probably conduct a very thorough physical examination depending on the reasons you have presented with. Most commonly, orthopaedic and neurological tests will be conducted and other exams may also be necessary like x-rays or other imaging. From this information a chiropractor would then be able to determine if you are indeed a candidate for chiropractic care, or if referral to another health care specialist may be necessary. If you are a chiropractic candidate, an appropriate treatment plan can be formulated based on your needs and objectives for care. Depending on the nature and severity of a person's problem the number of adjustments can vary from person to person, as well as their personal medical history and the type of chiropractic technique utilised for ?treatment.

Most chiropractors work in conjunction with other allied health professionals and are very effective in the "team approach" of getting a person back to being in optimal state of wellness. A lot of the previous problems that existed between the different health professions has become less and less as educational standards and technology have allowed the different professions to improve their standards of care and practice more evidence based approaches, for the benefit of the patient.

This article is meant as a guide as a general overview and anyone experiencing a problem should consult with their doctor immediately for a complete and thorough assessment.

The Surprising Benefits Of Seeing A Chiropractor

Chiropractors diagnose and treat individuals with problems related to the musculoskeletal system. Chiropractors have reported that there is a recent upsurge in the number of patients seeking out chiropractic care in lieu of more invasive treatments with a "traditional" practitioner. Abnormalities in the musculoskeletal system can often affect a patient's nervous system and overall general health. Chiropractic treatments generally focus on the spine using spinal manipulation. There are treatments for other joints and soft tissues. The chiropractic science is based on the belief that misalignments of spinal joints disrupts the nervous system and causes a break down in disease resistance. This results in poor overall health. Chiropractors deliver lifestyle counseling, exercise regimens, and health advisement.

Various Benefits

Multitudes of people seek the care of a chiropractor on a regular basis. There are many benefits of chiropractic care that will ultimately increase the quality of life. Some of these benefits are:

Total reduction in pain throughout entire body.
Decrease in the amount of joint pain especially for those with arthritis.
Relief of pressure on spine which decrease pain of the legs, knees, feet, and back.
Reduction in the amount of stiffness to treated areas.
Fewer muscle spasms.
Increase in range of motion.
Improved coordination.
Increased energy level.
Better self esteem.
Individual will feel much better overall.

Once there has been total realignment, pressure is relieved throughout the entire body. This stimulates the healing process allowing the body to heal as it normally would. Chiropractic treatments not only alleviate pain but help to heal joints and tissues as well.

Immediate Relief

Treatments offered by chiropractors often result in immediate relief for many individuals. These doctors have the skills to realign limbs and joints creating a sudden decline in pain. There are instances when manipulation can leave an individual achy and somewhat sore. This is due to the fact that body may have been misaligned for quite a long period of time. Chiropractors often report that many of their patients receive an almost immediate alleviation of pain and require just one chiropractic adjustment to become pain-free, although this is not typical of all patients.

Additional Info

Chiropractors are not licensed to prescribe medications. Many times, during the course of treatment, a chiropractor may discover that an individual has additional health problems and needs medical attention outside their realm of medicine. The patient will be referred for a consult with the proper type of health care professional. Most all chiropractors agree that there are numerous factors that may affect an individual's overall health. These include diet, exercise, heredity, environment, and rest. The wide variety of information on these factors, which most chiropractors provide to their patients, is another added benefit.

Contact a chiropractor now to find out if chiropractic care is right for treating your neck, back, shoulder, knee, joint, or other chronic or acute pain.
