How to Become a Licensed Mississauga Chiropractor


How can one become a licensed Mississauga chiropractor? Professional chiropractors who are planning to practice in Mississauga and Ontario area must be accredited and registered with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario. To become a registered member of CCO and licensed Mississauga chiropractor, you must comply with the membership requirements which include a set of licensing exams and educational attainment.

Accreditation and Licensing Procedure for Mississauga Chiropractor

  • Take up and finish the accredited education program for chiropractors. There are two educational institutions in Ontario that are accredited to offer chiropractic education program. These are l'Universit矇 du Qu矇bec ? Trois-Rivi癡res (UQTR) in Quebec and Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). There are other educational institutions outside of Ontario that offer chiropractic education program. These schools are accredited and recognized by the Canadian Federation of Chiropractic Educational Regulatory and Educational Accrediting Boards. Check out the Resource page of their website for the complete list of schools that are accredited to offer chiropractic education program. Schools adopt different qualification standards for their respective chiropractic education program, although the basic requirements for these schools include a minimum of 3 year-undergraduate coursework. The program usually runs from 3 to 5 years including the required internship.

  • Take and pass the knowledge-based exams conducted by the Canadian Chiropractic Examining Board or CCEB. The licensing exam series consists of 3 written exams and one practical exam on clinical knowledge. You can start taking the exam even while you are still in school and at different schedules. The CCEB shall furnish you with the study requirements and exam coverage and can assist you in setting up the schedule of your exams.   • Take and pass the Legislation and Ethics exam conducted by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario or CCO. You have to pay an examination fee in the amount of $180. The CCO shall provide you with the necessary review materials upon submission of application form and receipt of payment.   • Submit your application for the Legislation and Ethics exam to CCO. Once you are able to pass the exam, the College of Chiropractors of Ontario will furnish you with your membership application. You must submit your application for membership with the CCO along with all the documentary requirements such as proof of successful completion of the CCEB exam and school transcripts.
