This gives you a chance to work in an actual doctor's office and put your knowledge to the test when dealing with real, live patients. No matter what you learn in a classroom, it is always different when it's the real thing. An internship gives you the chance to combine your knowledge of the medicine with the patience and compassion that a doctor must have when seeing his or her patients. Sometimes people are irritable because they are in pain. Sometimes they are just plain weird. It is your job as an intern to learn to cope with people in all different types of situations.
After a successfully completed internship, you are finally eligible to receive a chiropractic license. Then, it's up to you to set up an environment where you can practice chiropractic medicine to the fullest of your abilities, and make a real difference in people's lives.
